Memorial Tours
Learn about the memorials honoring Washingtonians who have served in the armed forces or law enforcement.
About the tour
Visitors learn about sites on West Capitol Campus that honor Washingtonians in the military, the Red Cross, and law enforcement. Tours last about one hour.
Tour stops include:
- Winged Victory Monument, dedicated on Memorial Day 1938, nearly 20 years after the end of World War I.
- Medal of Honor Memorial, recognizing Washingtonians awarded the U.S. military’s highest honor.
- World War II Memorial, honoring the nearly 6,000 Washingtonians who died in that conflict.
- POW/MIA Memorial, honoring prisoners of war or those missing in action.
- Vietnam Veterans Memorial, completed in 1987, listing the names of the nearly 1,100 Washington state men and women killed or missing in action.
- Law Enforcement Memorial, honoring more than 275 Washington officers killed in the line of duty.
NOTE: The Korean War Memorial is discussed during the tour but not visited as it is located on East Campus.
Tour schedule
Tours run by appointment based on staff availability, Monday through Friday.

Memorial tours must be requested at least two business days in advance and can accommodate up to 25 people.
