Governor's Mansion Tours

The Governor's Mansion is the official residence of our governor since 1909. Explore the oldest building on Capitol Campus via a tour presentation from the Governor's Mansion Foundation.

About the tour

This 30-minute tour leads you through a number of rooms in the Governor's Mansion.

You will be walking and standing and there are no public restrooms.

The mansion is accessible to walkers and wheelchairs on the first floor only. The walk from the bottom of the driveway to the mansion's front door is a 200-yard incline.

You will check in with the Washington State Patrol at the bottom of the mansion driveway at least 10 minutes before your tour start time. If you are 18 or older, you are required to show photo ID. You must be accompanied by an adult if you are under 18.

All weapons are prohibited on the mansion grounds. Other prohibited items during the tour: backpacks, strollers, umbrellas, gum, food, and drinks. We will provide bins for you to store personal items. Purses are allowed during the tour.

How to sign up

Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance, and each tour has a limit of 30 people.

You must submit the full names of all attendees in your group when you make the reservation.

For groups who have received prior approval to drive up to the mansion due to a special need, please submit the following vehicle information at least 24 hours prior to the tour:
