Visitor Accommodations
We want your visit to be comfortable and enjoyable. Locate where drinking fountains, restrooms, changing tables, and free Wi-Fi are available in the Legislative Building.
Emergency alerts
If there is an imminent threat to health and safety on Capitol Campus, an alert is sent through WA Agency Alerts. Visitors can opt-in by SMS/text to receive these alerts. There are two options:
- To receive alerts for one week, text CAMPUSGUEST to 888-777.
- To receive alerts on an ongoing basis, text CAMPUSALERT to 888-777.
ADA doors and disabled parking

Visitors to the Legislative Building will find four ADA parking spots on the south side of the building. These parking spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis. There are two ADA doors directly in front of these parking stalls with public elevators located just inside these entrances. These doors are not open on weekends or state holidays.
An additional accessible entrance to the Legislative Building is located at the southeast corner of the building, near the intersection of Sid Snyder Ave. and Cherry Lane. This entrance is closest to all other visitor parking and public transportation. Additionally, two ADA parking spaces are located near this entrance just in front of the Cherberg Building. This entrance is open to the public whenever the building is open.
Restrooms
ADA accessible restrooms are available on all four floors of the Legislative Building. Family restrooms are located on the north side of the second, third and fourth floors.
Changing tables
Baby changing tables are located in the following restrooms:
- First floor women's restroom in the northeast corner.
- Second floor family restroom in the north hallway, outside the Office of the Secretary of State.
- Third floor family restroom in the north hallway, near the George Washington bust.
- Fourth floor family restroom in the north hallway, near the House Gallery entrance.
Lactation rooms
A lactation room is available to the public in the Legislative Building. Please go to the Visitor Services Office and we will unlock it for you.
Wheelchairs
If you need a wheelchair while visiting the Legislative Building, you may check out one for free with a photo ID. We have three wheelchairs available for check out.
Internet access
Limited free internet access is available to the public throughout the building. The network is called "WSLPublic" and there is no password. After connecting to the WSLPublic network, open an internet browser to accept the terms and conditions.
Interpreting and Translation
Please request American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters in advance by calling our Visitor Services Office at 360-902-8880. We do not offer unscheduled, on-site ASL interpreting services.
Translated self-guided materials are available in French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, German, Russian, Arabic, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
