While You're Here

Welcome to Capitol Campus! We hope you enjoy your visit and help us keep our campus grounds beautiful for others to enjoy as well.

Please take our brief survey

How are we doing with physical accessibility on Capitol Campus?

Please take our ADA engagement survey and let us know your thoughts.

Visit the Legislative Building

Year-round you can take a guided tour of the Legislative Building, also known as the Capitol Building.

Tours last 50-minutes and are on a first-come, first-served basis (groups of 10 or more need a reservation). Tours start at the information desk inside the main entrance.

You're also free to explore the public areas of the Legislative Building on your own!

Have questions while you're in the building?

For tours information or lost and found, go to the Visitor Services Office on the first floor of the Legislative Building.

For questions about the Legislature or legislative processes, visit the Legislative Information Center, also on the first floor.

Visit the gift center

Stop by the Legislative Gift Center during your visit, located on the first floor of the Legislative Building.

The gift center is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. It is closed on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Native American Heritage Day (the day after Thanksgiving), and Christmas Day, but open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all other holidays.

You’ll find apparel, books, souvenirs, and artwork from Washington's best artists and vendors. All profits benefit the Washington State Oral History Program, Capitol Furnishings Preservation Committee, and the Washington State Legacy Project. Visit the Legislative Gift Center website to browse the catalog or contact staff.

See the summer blooms

Summer is a great time to visit our parks & gardens

You can enjoy them on your own or book a Botanical Tour during the week.

Take only memories, leave only footprints

Please respect the hard work our campus stewards do to maintain the arboretum on campus.

  • Leave flowers, buds, or branches on the trees and bushes for people and pollinators to enjoy.
  • Use "smart" bins for garbage and recycling.
  • Don't fly drones. Capitol Campus is a No Drone Zone
