Governor's Mansion Tours
Explore the oldest building on Capitol Campus through a 30-minute tour from the Governor's Mansion Foundation.
About the tour
The Governor's Mansion is the official residence of our governor since 1909. Go on tour to explore a number of rooms in the building.
The Governor's Mansion Foundation manages these tours. This foundation owns and maintains most of the furnishings and artwork on display in the public rooms of the Mansion.
Tour schedule
Tours are available every half-hour, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending at noon, except July and December tours as noted below. Reservations are required for all tours.
- June 3 & 10
- July 1 & 8 – Stitching History: Quilts Celebrating America’s 250th (An extra tour from noon-12:30 p.m. has been added for these dates.)
- Oct. 7 & 14
- Nov. 4
- Dec. 2 & 9 – Holiday Tours - reservations are available the first week of Nov. (Extra tours from noon - 3 p.m. have been added.)
Sign up
Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance. Each tour has a limit of 30 people.
You must submit the full names of all attendees in your group when you make a reservation.
Checking in
Check in with the Washington State Patrol at the bottom of the mansion driveway at least 10 minutes before your tour start time.
If you are 18 or older, you must show your photo ID. You must be with an adult if you are under 18.
Weapons are not allowed on mansion grounds. The following items are not allowed on the tour: backpacks, strollers, umbrellas, gum, food, and drinks.
Purses are allowed during the tour. We provide bins for you to store personal items.
Cancel or reschedule
Use the Reserve a Tour application to cancel or reschedule your tour.
If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, please be considerate of our guests and volunteers and cancel or reschedule your tour.

For groups who have received prior approval to drive up to the mansion due to a special need, please submit the following vehicle information at least 24 hours prior to the tour:
- Make
- Model
- Color
- Year
- License plate number
Accommodations
The mansion is accessible to walkers and wheelchairs on the first floor only.
The walk from the bottom of the driveway to the mansion's front door is a 200-yard incline.
There are no public restrooms.
