Public Memorial Day tours honor Washington’s fallen service members

A bronze sculpture is in the foreground, and a domed building is in the background. Etchings of names on a bronze blade form the shadows of three soliders. The blade is part of the WWII Memorial on the Capitol Campus. It's framed by fall colors and the Legislative Building is on the right side in the background.

On Memorial Day, join a walking tour of the campus' tributes to Washingtonians who’ve served and sacrificed for the United States.

Free, public tours of Capitol Campus' memorials take place Monday, May 25.

Come hear how these markers were established and designed. Join us in reflecting on the lives of those they honor.

The tour visits six memorials on the Capitol's historic West Campus.

Tours launch hourly from noon to 3 p.m.

Each tour lasts 45-50 minutes.

To join

Arrive shortly before starting time at the visitors desk in the north entrance of the Legislative Building.
