As crews clean up after a minor landslide, a temporary fenced area will border the closed section of Powerhouse Road. The gravel walking path next to Capitol Lake will remain open.

What

Crews are removing debris from a minor landslide.

Where

Powerhouse Road, on the south end of Heritage Park, next to the railroad tracks between the park and the hillside.

When

7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, Sept. 3-30.

Impacts

During working hours, crews will close a 150-foot stretch of Powerhouse Road adjacent to the site. Crews will reopen the area for railroad traffic or vehicles traveling to and from the Powerhouse.

The contractor will fence off a portion of the lawn next to the road. The gravel walking path next to Capitol Lake will remain open.

Why

Last winter, a minor landslide spilled onto the railroad tracks running alongside Powerhouse Road.

Crews are removing dead brush and silt, installing topsoil and netting, and reseeding the slope to restore the hillside. They will move back and forth across the roadway from the fenced area to the tracks as they work on this restoration.
