State Patrol Oct. 30 event to impact Capitol parking, tours

Ceremony organizers expect 300 participants to attend.

WHAT: Washington State Patrol Trooper Graduation and Swearing-In Ceremony. 

WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2-4 p.m. Setup begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29. 

WHERE: 

  • Legislative Building, rotunda, and third- and fourth-floor mezzanines. 
  • Parking stalls along the North Diagonal. 

IMPACTS: 

  • Parking stalls on the North Diagonal will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday. 
  • DES will suspend tours of the Legislative Building during the event. 
  • Expect an increase in pedestrian traffic.
