Women Veterans Marker
This bronze marker represents Washington state women veterans, law enforcement officers, and first responders.
About the Women Veterans Marker
Located in Heritage Park, this marker honors all Washington state women who serve or have served to protect the people of Washington state and the United States, which includes military veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, and other organizations.
The Sacajawea Chapter of the Washington State Society Daughters of the American Revolution proposed the marker in September 2017. Shortly after, the state approved the proposal, and it was installed in Heritage Park. The Washington State Daughters of the American Revolution dedicated the marker in June 2018 in a ceremony that included representatives of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Women Veterans Advisory Committee, the Washington State Color Guard, and the Department of Enterprise Services. Members of the Sacajawea Chapter have a commitment to clean the marker once a year.
