About

Centennial Park was established in the spring of 1989 to commemorate Washington's first 100 years as a state. The focus of the park is the tallest tree in Olympia, a coastal redwood tree that's over 100 years old. The park's founders pledged to maintain the park as a natural area and keep it centered around this tree. The State Capitol Committee issued a proclamation naming the coastal redwood tree the Daniel J. Evans Tree in honor of our environmental governor.

Location

The park is located north of East Campus at the intersection of Union Avenue Southeast and Franklin Street Southeast.

Parking

Free parking is available off of Union Avenue Southeast with a two-hour limit.
